Luke's Training
When I acquired my life long dream dog, a Doberman, LeMils Jedi Knight, Luke, I was able to complete his AKC Championship. His breeder asked me to try to put a CD on him along with a WAC (Doberman Temperament Test). I was able to achieve Luke's WAC at the Nationals. Then I was faced with trying to obtain his CD. There was more than just obtaining his CD, it had to be obtained before the end of June 2008.This would give Luke's breeder, Michelle Lewis, her 17th ROM Doberman and I wanted to give her this dream if at all possible. I have known Jim Durrance for a number of years and have taken obedience classes from him from time to time. Luke is a big boy, 95 pounds, and there was no way I would be able to manage him. So, I contacted Jim. He had only trained a Doberman in a class situation before, but was anxious to work one on one with Luke. Luke would look at me as if to say "you have got to be kidding". Jim found Luke to be a quick learner and the two of them really hit it off. Jim was able to achieve just about all Luke needed for his CD in no time. Luke's only problem was the long down. Luke is very social and wanted to visit and not hold the down. It took extra training and patience on Jim's part but he stuck with it and we obtained Luke's CD in early June. While jim was training Luke toward his CD, he took him for his CGC test too. Jim and Luke are a good working team and Luke adores Jim. I never worried about Luke when Jim had him for training. Luke was always one of the family. So now, Luke is CH. Lemils Jedi Knight, ROM,CD,WAC,TT,CGC. This would not have been posible without Jim's expertise. I am forever indebted to Jim for training my boy and helping me achieve my dream. Thank you, Jim. Cheryl
