I met Jim in August of 2004 and began training with a beautiful black Lab named Blazing Star. She has truly lived up to her name! She is a real star and on fire when working! She is precious and Jim did a wonderful job training her! Blaze is almost four now, and she has been learning since she was a puppy. She was raised by very special people who began preparing her for our work together. They, along with Jim, taught her "manners". They taught her obedience and to be a good companion. When she turned one, Jim began exclusively training her. He was preparing her for an extremely important job. He taught her to stop at curbs, find steps, doors, and avoid obstacles. Now she has a very special role. She is my guide dog.I am blind and with Blaze I have incredible freedom. We safely cross streets together, getting to destinations with ease. She goes with me to work, accompanies me to restaurants, and any other public building. She is allowed on any public bus, airplane , or train. In our last two years together, I have learned to love her more each day. I would highly recommend Jim Durrance to any person wishing to train with him or get a dog trained by him. He is a wonderful trainer, very professional and has the highest ethics and standards. Every day I appreciate him for the great job he did in training my beautiful Blaze. I am amazed at what he was able to accomplish with this very energetic dog!----Cyndi

Hi, my name is Trish, I am 33 years old, and this is my three year old guide dog, Prince. Prince and I graduated from guide dog school in February of 2005. Jim Durrance trained Prince and me and I will recommend Jim as a trainer to anyone. He is so passionate about his training and very patient with everyone. Prince is an excellent guide dog and has brought so much joy to my life and my confidence level is just through the roof now that I have him in my life. Jim knew that my confidence level was really low on traveling alone because of my vision, especially crossing streets. He worked with me at my pace and got me through that with flying colors. Jim is more than just a trainer to me. He is a friend and part of my family now. I know several people that Jim has placed guide dogs with and they are all just as pleased as I am with their companions. Through them is how I learned of Jim and the school where I received Prince. Anyone who has the opportunity to work with Jim and receive a dog Jim has trained is truly blessed. Jim is a God send and I thank God everyday for Jim's . love and ability for training both dogs and people. Jim's compassion, understanding, and his love for helping others achieve their independent goals is outstanding. Best of luck to all that work with Jim!!------Trish
